I have made many, each one is a little different from the. I used 48 blue shims cut to 15 inches long, and then 24 of each of the other three colors.

Here is my inspiration sunburst mirror from pottery barn: Adhere with wood glue (if desired, use hot glue as well for an instant bond). Then generously spread gorilla glue around the opposite side of your wood and center it on the back of your mirror.

To make this, i used three packages of the large (very long) wood shims, a piece of mdf cut to about 19 inches square, a round framed mirror, wood stain, leftover paints, and lots of hot glue. The tips towards the middle will overlap a little.
